Overview of CAT 2025

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 is a national-level entrance exam for admission into India’s top MBA programs. Expected to be conducted by IIM Kozhikode, the exam will be held in online mode across 155 cities in India. Scores from CAT 2025 will be accepted by 21 IIMs and over 1200 other business schools.

Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2025

To be eligible for CAT 2025, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • General/NC-OBC Category: Must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks.
  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Must have a minimum of 45% marks in graduation.
  • Final Year Students: Can also apply if they expect to meet the marks requirement upon graduation.
  • Professional Qualifications Holders (CA, ICWA, CS, FIAI): Also eligible.
  • There are no age restrictions for CAT 2025.

Registration Process for CAT 2025

Candidates can register for CAT 2025 through these steps:

  1. Visit the official CAT website (iimcat.ac.in).
  2. Click on “New Candidate Registration.”
  3. Fill in your basic details to generate login credentials.
  4. Use your credentials to log in and complete the application form.
  5. Upload required documents as per guidelines.
  6. Select up to six preferred exam centers.
  7. Pay the application fee online.
  8. Submit the form and download a copy for reference.

CAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The CAT 2025 exam will have the following structure:

  • Number of Sections: 3 (VARC, DILR, QA)
  • Total Questions: 68
  • Type of Questions: MCQs and TITA (Type In The Answer)
  • Time Allotted: 120 minutes (40 minutes per section)
  • Marking Scheme: +3 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect MCQs (No negative marking for TITA questions)

CAT 2025 Syllabus

The syllabus is divided into three sections:

  • VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension): RC passages, Verbal logic, Para jumbles, Odd one out, Para summary, Inferences, and Analogies.
  • DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning): Blood relations, Seating arrangement, Venn diagrams, Logical puzzles, Tables, Graphs, etc.
  • QA (Quantitative Aptitude): Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Number Systems, and Modern Maths.
